A handbrake that pulls up too high or fails to hold the car on a hill usually indicates a stretched or seized cable, worn rear shoes or pads, or a sticking caliper lever. We determine which one before fitting anything. Sometimes an adjustment is all it needs. If the cable has seized or frayed, we replace it and set the handbrake correctly afterward.
